Division Setup

There are a number of issues that you must take into account before you setup your divisions.

Divisions, like teams and players can be assigned a Catagory. For example if you are going to have a U12 Boys Divisions and only want U12 Boys teams and U12 Boys players to participate in that division you can assign that category to the division.

At the basic level a division is simply a group of teams that play games against each other. Divisions can also have subdivisions and divisions can also have standings and web pages associated with them.

When to use Sub-Divisions

There are two cases of when you should use sub-divisions:

1. When ever you have teams that play between two different divisions or have teams that maybe transferred from one divisions to another throughout the season.
2. Whenever you want to group a number of divisions together. For example you may have 50 teams that play in a Monday Night league that you want to split into 5 tiers. The tiers become you sub-divisions.
